I generally have shot NRA High power Rifle and Handgun metallic silhouette competitions. Recently, I have taken a number of CCW classes; training included instructions for shooting in low light situations. The courses were taught by retired military, border patrol, and police officers. They generally all carried SureFire Flashlights. I was very impressed with function of the light between low and high intensity settings. One could easily move through a dark hallway or room with the low light setting and if encountering a belligerent move to the high lumen setting which will generally disorient the belligerent.
I chose the SureFire E2D Led Defender because of: its two light settings, its reliability, its compact, its easy to carry, it can be deployed with one hand, and complements CCW conditions.

I have more knives then the average person I know. And like most people who use knives routinely, I have several knife sharpening tools from flat stones on up, all these work but are not as fast and easy to use as the Spyderco sharpener. The Spyderco Tri-Angler sharpener is very well thought through; it has a simple design by angling two stones, all one has to do is hold the blade perpendicular to the Spyderco base and then draw one side of the blade down one stone then repeat the other side of the blade on the other stone. The stones are at the correct angle for sharpening the blade, repeating drawing the blade down opposite stones five to eight times results in renewing a paper cutting sharp edge to the blade.
Spyderco includes a manual and a CD showing the steps necessary to sharpen a variety of edged tools, including serrated blades.
It will sharpen arrow heads and fish hooks. I even sharpened my x-acto knives. If you like sharp edges on your cutting tools do yourself a favor and get one.

I have been using my Blackhawk Bedside Holster from the first day I received it. The holster works great with my 1911, easy to reach and draw. I would also like to share that I clip my SureFire E2D Led Ultra Flashlight on to the outside of the holster with the clip inside the holster and the body of the light on the outside of the holster. I recommend this option if you are looking for quick access to both a flash light and a firearm.
I currently have a second Blackhawk Bedside Holster on order for my wife’s side of the bed.
