Way too loud!

I read the reviews that stated it was quieter, well that was a lie. This spring is very loud, way louder than any spring I've used before. I have a strike industry buffer tube as well. Maybe it's just me but it is really loud and raspy sounding.

SightMark LoPro Combo Light (Visible and IR)
It is perfect for everyday shooting and hunting. It is a little heavy and a little bulky, but attaches to piccatinny solidly. It doesn't hold a zero the best though. I find my self Rezeroing the laser ever time I hunt/shoot, but I don't baby my rifle.
IR light works great with PVS-14's. I have hit targets with the laser out to at least 200 YARDS measured. Battery life is decent. Get this to save you some money until you can get a PEQ.
