Great blast shield, tamed my break

Review for
Strike Industries SI Oppressor Universal
For my first AR-15 build (16” mid-length .223 Wylde), I put a Precision Armament Hypertap break on it. The recoil reduction was amazing, but the concussive blast that came with it made the shooting experience overall a little too gnarly (and nobody was even next to me to complain). So I got this universal blast shield hoping it would eliminate the concussion and read-ward blast of the brake while not cancelling out the recoil reduction. And it did just that. Because of the design you can take it on and off right at the range super easily, and shooting with and without it was night and day. If the recoil was a little bit better without the black shield, I couldn’t notice because the concussive force was so sucky that it overwhelmed the whole experience. One thing you have to make sure of is that your hand guard will not butt up against this thing when you install it. You have to press down on the device when you were locking in place, so when you install it, it actually has to have a little gap between the hand guard and the oppressor so that there is enough room to engage the unlocking mechanism when you push it down. I was able to do this by installing the crush washer upside down underneath the locking attachment, because my muzzle device doesn’t require a crush washer because it has a self timing lug.
