Let me start by saying that I have had a TRL-1S, then went to a Surefire x300, and now I am back to the TRL. Nothing against the x300 (500 lumen)the brightness is great, I just like the controls on the TRL better. Now that they have made it in the HL version, with strobe, it is the best choice as far as I am concerned. Adds a little weight up front, which sort of acts like a compensator. Only complaint is that it is a pain to have to remove it completely to change out the batteries. Honestly though, you do not have to do that all that often. Rugged construction, never had an issue there. The momentary on, and strobe controls are great! Highly recommended!
