Great all around binoculars

This was my first pair of quality binoculars, and it opened up a whole new interest in optics for me. Can't really go wrong with these good all-purpose binoculars. I eventually bought more expensive binoculars thinking that these would be left behind, but they continue to hold their own and are just too useful to give up. You have to spend 2x more to get a noticeable improvement.

Fujinon 10x50 Polaris FMT-SX Marine Waterproof Binoculars

This is simply the best set of binoculars at this price point for astronomy. The view is amazing! Unfortunately, the copy that I got was slightly off in vertical collimation. Despite the fact that the sample I got was not perfect, I would consider this a rare occurrence as Fujinon binoculars are generally very well regarded. I would not hesitate to recommend these binoculars for stargazers.

Kruger Caldera - very nice

Really well built roof prism binos. Great optics! I compared these to comparable Vortex and Zen-ray models, and these are every bit as good and priced competitively. Rotating eyecups are a nice touch.
