Exceeds expectations by a mile

Written on Jul 30, 2014

I purchased two of these for two different rifles, both .308. I have never mounted a scope to a rifle (even using a boresighter) and had it line up within two clicks elevation and two clicks windage at 100 yards. Three shots and I was ringing 12 inch gongs offhand at 270 yards. Low light performance is expected German performance- 2nd to none. If you want a reasonably priced scope (reasonable being subjective of course), I don't think you will find a better optic in this price range. What are you giving up? Well, you have to take the caps off to make your adjustments. Spend the extra to get the Z-600 reticle. Everyone who has shot my rifles with this scope have been immensely impressed. Leopold makes good equipment, and they were my first choice, but you have to get a least a VX-3 to come close to the level of performance of this Zeiss, and their reticles are not as good on the VX-3. The VX Mark is between the VX-2 and VX-3 in quality and low light capability, so I guess you could make do with that, but the glass isn't as good from my experience. Buy it, you will not regret it.
