I've done a fairly extensive amount of reading reviews, testing scopes on some friends' ARs, and considered red dot scopes as well. I plan to use my rifle mostly on the range and for some varmint/coyote hunting when the opportunity arises. Overall, this is an outstanding scope that delivers both close range and fairly long distance targeting with high quality glass which is exactly what I needed.

The eye relief on the scope is really set up great, around 4". As a result, the scope is very easy to use and I could see it being quite adaptable to different setups and mounts. Quick target acquisition is a breeze at 2-8x. One of the most common things I hear about when considering scopes on an AR is how effective you can be with fast moving targets at closer distances. Some people are die-hard about the iron sites, but you can easily keep up with a low magnification and the huge eye relief.

One of my apprehensions in getting a scope this long is whether or not it would clear the charging handle. I ended up purchasing the Nikon M223 mount and slid it all the way forward on my picatinny rails. The scope sits about 1/4" short of the charging handle, so it does not interfere at all. Again, with the 4" eye relief, having the scope mounted forward does not cause any issues.
