Decent Backup Sights at a Great Price

Written on Jul 23, 2025

A great value for American made sights. The sights seem to be well made, and the push button is easy to use. The base on each of the aluminum sights is somewhat thick, which while I appreciate the extra material, means that the rear-sight cannot sit as far forward as a set of steel 45-deg offset sight due to an interference with the brass deflector on the receiver. Moving the sight back a slot or two, the rear-sight installed without issue, but when folded down extended back to where it may interfere with a non-Milspec charging handle. This is not a negative mark on the sights or JE Machine. They can't possibly design their products for every other possible AR15 component on the market, but it is something that the end user should be aware of.

Good First Impressions on this Scope

Written on Jul 22, 2025

I have put about 60 rounds down-range while using this scope, so these are my first impressions only, but at this time the scope has functioned well. The glass is clear, it was easy to mount, and the controls are all well placed and easy to use. The tool-less adjustment turrets are great for easy adjustments while shooting and the ability to "zero" the elevation and windage adjustments after zeroing using the included silver hex wrench is great. The eye relief is reasonable and while the reticle is on the small side even at maximum zoom it is adequately large and balances the ability to use the make precise shots and having a minimally obstructed sight picture at 1x zoom. The red dot is very bright and is almost too bright on the highest setting even outdoors on a very bright day-- this is actually a good thing as many red dots are too dim in my area. The price would be reasonable for the optic alone, but the good quality mount, and quality scope covers that are included make this a good value.

My main complaint is that the red-dot power/brightness adjustment knob and the adjustable turrets will want to rotate when you go to remove the battery compartment cover or loosen the turret set screw. This will need to be held in place to remove the cover for the battery compartment and to not lose your zero on the turrets. This, however, is a minor annoyance given how rarely these tasks are expected to be performed. Only time will tell how well this scope holds up, but my initial fi
