Know the true capability of your night vision unit.

Written on Jan 08, 2015

I recently purchased the IR810 Long Range Infrared Illuminator to go with my Armasight Spark, both bought for Optics Planet, the illuminator was able to extend the Spark's vision by 60-70 yards in pitch black darkness, with several different power options on the illuminator you are able to adjust from short range to long range power as needed, which makes viewing more uniform and enjoyable, let me just say you do not know the capability of your night vision until you use an external high powered illuminator, the built in IR illuminators that come with your night vision device is nothing compared to a long range illuminator.

Spark CORE monocular

Written on Jan 05, 2015

I researched many night vision monoculars before making my purchase of the Spark CORE monocular at Optics Planet, the Spark is very clear in resolution, the infrared light provided with unit could be brighter, but worked well for 10-15 yards in near total darkness, the adjustments were a little stiff to begin with, but loosened up with a little use, overall I am very satisfied with my Spark CORE, but I do suggest buying the Armasight long range infrared illuminator to go with the unit, it will make you appreciate the Spark even more.
