Not for a VP9L Optics Ready

Written on Jun 18, 2021

This sight will not work with the optics ready long slide as you would have to have your slide milled off under the rear of the slide under the sight. These are always higher quality and would’ve been a great little sight, but again if you have an optics ready slide and don’t want to mill off the top rear portion of your slide don’t get this model.

Sky Cop holster

Written on Nov 30, 2016

This review is for the Sky Cop holster by DeSantis, it looks great in the package, and on my belt, but I prefer functionality over looks. That said...........
It fits the 1911 fairly well but, personally I believe that there is not enough retention, I've tightened the retention screw as tight as it'll get but Gun comes out too easily for my liking, but opinions are like........ and they all stink.... the loop that faces forward is not near stiff enough, as it is loose and flexible right out of the package without any break in, hopefully I'm wrong and it'll be fine in the long run, but most leather holsters seem to loosen up fairly quickly with use. This holster I bought for use with my wheelchair as cross draw works best for me while I'm in the wheelchair, I cannot feed excess belt back through the loops on this holster, going to have to have to either gain weight or buy another belt that fits better.... but what's another hundred bucks for proper fit. I have a shoulder rig but I carry a 1911 and between the firearm and spare magazines it starts to fatigue my shoulders after a a few days of carrying this way, so, cross draw puts the weight on my hips and that works best for me when I'm stuck in the chair, the Small Of Back holster by Galco is my favorite overall holster, however when in the wheelchair the armrest could be a terrible obstacle to overcome in a life or death situation, with practice the armrest could be thrown up out of the way to get at the SOB holster but ca

Galco Small Of Back Holster.

Written on Nov 26, 2016

My second one, awesome holsters, fit firearm great, and retain firearm securely, and provides a smooth draw when needed. Finish is great with even color throughout the entire holster, In my opinion best quality holsters on the market are Galco branded. Galco holsters cost more upfront than others, but after all how much is your life worth, God forbid, when and if you need use of your firearm, fractions of a second could mean life or death or at least great bodily harm. This is my favorite type of carry holster, can carry a full frame 1911 style Kimber and I don't worry about the finish on my firearm, and it's comfortable enough for all day wear/use with no fatigue. My initial thought was that this would be uncomfortable to "sit" on but surprisingly it's just enough to let you know where your firearm is.
