great looking great quality

Written on Nov 18, 2025

WE/CIVIVI is fantastic. The Chiro combines form and function in my opinion. The buttery smooth action, perfect lockup, neat scales, ergonomics and gorgeous blade all make a great package. It’s inexpensive so getting a few duplicates of your favorite models is a good call. Would not hesitate to use heavily for everyday tasks! They also have versions with satin and black G10 scales too, but I definitely like carbon fiber.

good offset mount

I applied locktite to the screws and it stays on the rail.

great vise block/rod

Great value and build quality, it helped me change my handguard and barrel nut on an upper with ease. The fitment is great!

34mm, 1.54" height, 0 MOA

Written on Jun 10, 2025

Just wanted to clarify this is the 34mm tube, 1.54" center height, 0 MOA cant mount.
Lets you lock it down on your picatinny rail with a variable width wedge (recoil lug).
7075-T6, impressive, it's machined very well, beveled edges, smooth finish. It's a cut above 6061-T6 options.
The rings are conventional in design, you need to buy an additional 8XCap (0010650104-F) to mount the diving board (0010650162-F) or other accessories.

It's a Vision!

Written on Jun 05, 2025

Took a while to get it! The Pro Chassis builds on top of the original Vision chassis. Made in Norway, it's pure 7075-T6 aluminum, over-engineered and extra thick, but the price is still quite fair when compared to some less stiff 6061-T6 chassis on the market (stares at MDT). Also, all screws in the chassis are stainless black, rust/corrosion resistant (stares again at MDT).

Full length arca rail, 19 inch Forend, ambidextrous, inlets for weights and customization. Elite series Cerakote, a very smooth and extra hard finish compared to H series. I do like the way it feels "dead" with little to no vibration or ringing during use. The only other chassis I feel that with is the JAE-G5.

Recommended: pick up the NV bridge to not only mount NV devices, but also lower the mirage from a hot barrel, protect the barrel, and provide a surface to rest the hand when steadying.

Buttstock adjustability is great and no complaints. Going to pick up a folding hinge too.
Not just great looks, but great function as well. It's very useful from games, to long range, to tactical use, or just plinking.

Beyond expectations

Written on May 10, 2025

I did not expect much when I bought this scope for a Howa 1500 build. I was surprised by the quality and attention to detail. Here are some noteworthy points:

1. Turrets can lock, but are incredibly crisp and tactile despite that. All witness marks align perfectly. 10 mils per revolution.
2. Comes with both sunshade and a honeycomb kill flash.
3. Throw lever can be installed anywhere, really anywhere, on the magnification ring, is not a clamp, very cool system.
4. All adjustments are smooth, and no grit. Easy to turn parallax knob that is accurate.
5. The glass quality is the most surprising. I can't detect any central chromatic aberration when looking at bright white objects under the sun. That's better than my expectations.
6. It does well cutting through mirage, but probably won't compare to ZCO or Tangents.
7. Comes with flip caps already.
8. 2 different battery covers, one with logo, one with indent for easy removal.
9. Comfortable eyebox and eye relief.
10. Very affordable!

What I don't like, or think Swampfox should add:
1. A zero stop. There isn't any. But it isn't a necessity.
2. The illumination can be improved. It is usable in low light, not daylight.

Worth it at this price in my humble opinion. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

It’s impeccably machined. The finish is great. The height is perfect. Torques properly. Rock solid.

The screw really is too short

Written on Feb 13, 2024

This is the second HRS stock I had bought. The first one was perfect and easy to install. This one though, the screw provided was way too short, it won't even reach the A2 tube threads.

So, I went and measured all my tubes to make sure the lengths were the same, and yeah, the issue is either this HRS stock or the included screw. I'm going to have to buy a longer screw to be able to use this thing. Once again though my first HRS works flawlessly. I like the light weight, QD slots, and design.

The best AR-10 BCG?

Written on Feb 13, 2024

Toolcraft makes Cryptic BCGs, and Cryptic adds the magic touch. Basically, think of the mil-spec BCG with a phosphate finish, chromed interior, reliable gas seal, cleanly staked key, chromed firing pin, HPT and MPI'd bolt... all of this, but without the phosphate finish which is a pain to clean. Instead you get a non chipping, very hard finish on the outside, without compromising the chromed dimensions where it matters. This finish is slippery when dry and beyond black ice when lubed up. One easy wipe and it's good as new.

On a personal note, got lucky and the part visible when the BCG is installed is a nice dark bronze color, the wacky blue green part is in the back and not visible usually. But like it says, every BCG will be different in this coating choice.

Great affordable optic for anything really

Written on Feb 09, 2024

If anyone asks me to recommend a good entry level (heck, mid level) LPVO, this is the definite choice. Not only is the eyebox forgiving even on 6x (really good at 1x) the eye relief is very long at almost 4 inches on 1x, and the reticle is clear and clutter free.

Of course the fiber dot is the selling point and if you add the separate SLx autolive shake awake nodule, the battery life is extended. The glass is good enough for PID and resolution at mid range, but for LPVOs usability at 1x is key. Otherwise just get a 2-12 or 3-15 with a canted dot right? Weight is really good at 1.1 lb on the scale with the additional autolive module installed.
