Great Prairie Dogging scope

Written on Feb 03, 2019

I mounted this scope on a Ruger Predator 22-250. I zeroed it at 100 yards and have been hitting dogs ever since. The first year, I did have to re-sight it in when I got to my destination cause it was off pretty substantially but, after that I have not had a problem with it. Last year I hit 3 Prairie dogs at 550 yards consecutively! I have been able to have sub-MOA accuracy at 100 yards and has just been a blast to shoot with.
One of the funny things to keep in mind with this scope is that the parallax adjustment does not have a measurement. But I have always just adjusted while looking through the scope anyways. Great scope but I don't think that I would use this for precision shooting where you have to mess around with the turrets. I mean the turrets have covers... you know, like a hunting scope! I do not dial the scope in when I use this scope I use use hold-overs cause I am killing Prairie dogs not winning a tournament especially with this very simple and basic Mil-Dot reticle.
Glass clarity is better than the Barska Varmint. In my opinion this should replace the Varmint series and they should come up with a better reticle for precision shooting. For the price it is wonderful though!
