I would say this is a good scope overall. I’m adverse to relying on batteries so I appreciate that it has an etched reticle with optional illumination. I also have a 1-6 version and noticed a key difference that I have not seen anyone else mention. On the 1-6 the whole reticle gets illuminated when you turn it on. On the 1-8, only the horseshoe gets illuminated, which I actually prefer because it allows most of your target to remain visible. I will say that on the full 8 power you do ha e to get your eye just right but it’s not that hard to do because shooting at those distances you are generally shooting from firm rested position. I am a big fan of the 1-8 design do you can use it close range. Big advantage over the 4-12 type scopes in my opinion. The numbers inside the reticle also seem clearer on the 1-8 version of this scope. My only criticism is I wish the magnification disk was a little easier to turn one handed but it may loosen up with more use. I would say buy one if you are like me and want a good scope that doesn’t cost more than the thing you’re putting it on.

This was my first experience with anything QD. It was a good one. I was worried about these sling mounts coming undone with running, jumping, etc. but have not been able to jar it loose. The flush button design also prevents against unintentionally releasing the mount. All in all a good product.

Good mount for the money. Thumb nuts can work themselves loose if you just finger tighten them. Therefore, using a screw driver or torque wrench should be used to secure your mount. However, the thumb nuts are handy for taking the mount off easily. Has been holding zero once torqued down. Good product.
