I have not field tested the scope yet. However, the optics seem very clear and you cannot beat the price. I have been search for a cheaper scope for cheaper rifles that do not warrant expensive glass. I think the redfield, burris and vortex scopes are the answer. In addition, you cannot beat leupolds warranty.
Burris never disappoints. Along with vortex, burris probably makes the best scope for the money. At first i didn't like the reticle, but after i got use to it, i found it very useful and functional.
The optics on this scope are comparable to all the higher end scopes. The higher end leupold scopes and the meostar scopes are about equal in light gathering, brightness, and clarity. I love the scope. My only regard was not buying the illuminated reticle model. Great scope. I would buy this scope before i spent the money on a swarvorski or zeiss.
The scope is not bad for the price. It should be used more for target shooting because the scope is very heavy. However, the optics are as good as expected for the price. If you are trying to build a light weight rifle, this is not your scope. Leopold make the same power and objective size scope with an illuminate reticle that weights a lot less. however, you will pay a little bit more. The scope is great for a target rifle.
Typical Leupold quality. The scope is excellent in low light conditions. The scope is considerable lighter than similar illuminated reticle scope that i have purchased. I have the scope mounted on a 6.5 grendel AR 15 with a laser genetics laser. I can hunt hogs at night all night with my buddies that purchased 4K plus night vision scopes. Bottom line, you cannot go wrong with a leupold VX-3 and above.
