perfect as always

Written on Jun 09, 2019

My 4th set of Talley mounts, and once again they are perfect! High quality, precision made product that makes for a very robust attachment system for scopes. Easy to install and looks nice without adding a lot of weight.

Perfect Again

Written on May 23, 2019

I've slowly switched all my rifles over to Talley mounts and couldn't be more satisfied with them. Very easy to install and they fit perfect on every rifle I've tried them on. None have needed to be lapped or shimmed, and they are rock solid with fewer moving parts to worry about coming loose or fumbling with when installing..Get the right height size to give your scope clearance without setting it too high, and the proper model for your rifle, and you'll be set.

Better than most Mil Spec

Written on May 22, 2019

It's better than most mil spec trigger groups, but is in no way a "premium Match Grade Trigger" as advertised. But, considering the price, I didn't expect a match trigger. The trigger is a little smoother than a standard mil spec, but still has a heavy pull and quite a bit of take-up. I added a reduced power spring kit and that helped with the pull weight and accuracy did increase a little. All in all it's a pretty decent upgrade to a mil spec trigger, but not a major improvement.

Time Saver, And Safety Check

Written on Jan 29, 2019

This will be my 8th one of these for the various cartridges I reload. In my mind they are a must have for safe and dependable ammunition, especially bottleneck cases. Simply plunk the case in and you know instantly if it's headspaced properly and if the length is within specs. Much faster than measuring each one..Several times, especially with .223, I've had size cases that were out of spec that would have caused a jam in an AR..So get one for each cartridge and save a bunch of time, be safer, and have peace of mind that your cartridges are within spec...Just keep a thin coat of gun oil on it when stored, and it will last a lifetime. As a side note, if you start seeing cases that fail the test, sometimes case lube (or debris) can build up on the inside causing the case not to seat in the gauge all the way, just clean it out and re-check those cases. If it was dirty, the cases will pass the check after its been cleaned. (that is, if the case is within spec).

Much better than stock

I've used two of these. One I used to replace the factory trigger in a Bushmaster, and because I liked the first so well, I used one in a ground up build. First what a difference it made in the Bushmaster. It went from a 2 MOA rifle to sub MOA at 100 yards. So much smoother with zero take-up and a crisp break. I used the light springs and haven't experienced a light strike with CCI and Rem primers in well over 1000 rounds. The second was just as good in the 20" varmint AR, also with the light spring and its a crazy accurate rifle. For the price, you won't find a better upgrade. I'm getting another right now for my first AR 308 build and I'm certain I'll be just as happy with this one.

Great Addition

Written on Jun 27, 2017

This is probably one of the best technology advancements for the AR platform..The old spring and buffer have worked well for many years, but a captured spring system is the way to go to reduce noise and smooth out charging and cycling. I can't say I noticed much reduction in felt recoil, but the rifle is definitely quieter and tames down the cycling. It makes the rifle more controllable and easier to stay on target for follow up shots...Like the other reviewer, the "twang" never really bothered me until I installed this system, and realized just how loud and annoying it was, not to mention the vibration that used to come through the tube is gone as well..One thing I did notice is that when you release the bolt using the bolt release button, it seems to slam home more positively without any "bolt bounce".

works well

Written on Jun 18, 2017

Comes with all the necessary hardware to install it..My Armorers wrench wasn't a perfect fit to the barrel nut. The spacing on the holes was off just a tiny amount. Still I managed to get the pegs on the wrench to go in the holes with a little wiggling. It looks pretty good, although I now wish I didn't go with a quad rail,It looks kind of bulky and doesn't fit the theme of the rifle I'm building, but that's no fault of the product. The top quad rail lined up perfectly (horizontally) to the rail on my DPMS lo-pro, but was slightly wider. Not really enough to notice unless you really study it. The threads on the barrel nut and inside the tube are cut well and threaded on with ease. Seems plenty well built and I'm happy with the purchase, especially considering the low price.

Good enough

I just put these on my latest AR build and they worked out great. Easy to mount and stays where you put them. Precision machined and my scope is dead nuts and shooting 1/2 MOA at 100 yards and 200 yards. I first ordered the medium height, but with my DPMS Lo-Pro upper and 40mm objective scope, they were a little to short..Thanks to optics planet, I Easily returned them and ordered the high height and got a perfect fit! The sharp angles and large nuts make them look very "tactical" and right at home on an AR.

Excellent Kit

Written on Apr 07, 2017

I've used kits from big name ar makers and budget priced kits, I've even went the "ala-carte" route picking each individual item separately, and then I tried the CMMG kit on my last two builds and I have settled on my preferred lpk..Everything is there, top quality items, fit/functions perfect in the 2 lowers from different manufacturers, and the price is great. No more extra triggers laying around, left over from other lpk's.

Very Good Upgrade

Written on Mar 28, 2017

Used to replace a stock Bushmaster trigger and couldn't be happier with the results. Used both the purple and tan springs and they both worked very well..Settled on the lighter purple spring and my groups tightened up to .676" @ 100 yards..Using CCI primers, I didn't experience any light strikes in the 200 rounds I put through it. Very little take up, nice clean break and good solid reset. Simple install and so far haven't had any walk with the included pins..The little slave pin that's included is a nice addition to make installing the trigger and disconector easy. Clean up was a breeze! All in all, if you don't want to spend 4X as much on a drop in fire control group, or you just want a better trigger and to keep the Mil-Spec look of your AR, this trigger is the way to go..I don't think you can find a better option if you factor by an accuracy improvement to dollars spent ratio...Is it the best trigger out there? No, but unless you shoot long range competition, you'll never know the difference.
