The Primary Weapons System (PWS) Ratchet Lock End Plate is absolutely the best and easiest way to secure an AR’s Receiver Extension (i.e., buffer tube) to the lower receiver. When the ratcheted Castle Nut is tightened against the End Plate it provides an excellent lock that will not vibrate free under extended use. Many reviews will say that no staking is necessary, and that is unquestionably true. Most manufacturers recommend that a standard Castel Nut should be torqued to 40 ft/lbs. Since many home builders don’t use a torque wrench for this purpose, there is no telling how much torque is being applied to tighten the nut. With the Ratchet Lock End Plate, a builder can use much less force to attain a good snug fit that will hold over extended use. Another plus is that the ratcheted Castle Nut can easily be removed using a standard Castel Nut Wrench for maintenance or Receiver Extension change-out. This can be done numerous times with the reuse of the same Ratchet Lock End Plate parts. The fit and finish on the PWS parts are outstanding and bears a very nice look for a quality build.

I own quite a few AR15s fitted out with Reflex Sights inclusive of Aimpoint PROs, Aimpoint COMP M4s, and EoTechs. The three (3) Aimpoint PROs that I have offer me the same utility as my more expensive COMP M4s and EoTechs. The Aimpoint PRO is well engineered, reliable, and very robust. It ships with an excellent mount (with AR15 co-witness spacer) and lens covers. Since I zero all my AR15s at 50 yds., the Aimpoint PRO facilitates very precise shots within a 3 1/2" elevation window between 0 and 225 yds. in the same manner as my COMP M4s and EoTechs do. Practically speaking, the 2 MOA dot facilitates target acquisition and accurate shot placement from close range (i.e., approximately 7 yds.) to intermediate range (i.e., approximately 225 yds.). Please note that I am comparing the Aimpoint PRO to other very high quality Reflex Sights that have been proven benchmarks in both Military and Police service. Consequently, I believe the Aimpoint PRO is an outstanding value in its price range.

The SureFire M600 Ultra Scout Weapon Light is an outstanding piece of equipment as evidenced from its extremely high level of quality, functionality, and utility. The M600 exhibits first-rate construction, fit and finish that exceeds other lights in its class and clearly demonstrates manufacturer attention to detail. The light's functionality is readily appreciated by its ease of installation to a Picatinny rail via an integral thumbscrew clamp and operation employing the Tailcap Click Switch (i.e., ON -MOMENTARY ON - OFF). The utility of the coherent, 500 lumen light has proven to be absolutely effective at close range (i.e., 15 yards or less) as well as relatively longer ranges (i.e., 15 to 50 yards). I mounted my M600 at the 9 0'clock position on a AR15 Noveske 11-inch hand guard in conjunction with a Magpul Angled Forward Grip (AFG) and achieved good ergonomic manipulation of the Tailcap Click Switch without the need for a tape switch. Additionally, the light is mounted far enough back on the rail so that the the bezel is clear of the muzzle break to avoid unnecessary exposure to muzzle blast. In conclusion, this weapon light is considered quite expensive by many, but is well worth the price when contemplating its overall quality and operability.
