Over time, the alkaline batteries WILL weep and batty acid will cake up and prevent the removal of the battery cap. This forces you to (worst case scenario) dremel the battery cap off like I had to. This issue has been known for years by guys that have bought these as military surplus optics but cutting into an optic I bought new for $1000 would personally make me nervous lol. Now, onto the review.

Imagine if you would, finally splurging on a $1000 red dot after your time behind ~$200 Holosuns and the like. Excitement and impatience of your new optic is all you can think about at your desk of the boring 9-5 job you have to afford your expensive hobby. It finally arrives and it brings you back to qualifying in the Army (or myself, Airforce). Nostalgia and performance? Yes. Life is now good and restless rifle syndrome has been quenched, for now.

Brightness knob is tactile, even the salty one I picked up secondhand is very positive. Obviously, if you have an astigmatism, you’ll be staring at a / . However for those of us blessed with standard eyesight, before you is a very crisp dot with a decent range of brightness. Not too many, not too little. Under my gen 3 PVS-14, it gives off a COD 4:MW vibe for sure.
