Significant Point of Impact Shift, Ruins finish around the barrel, negligible change in recoil
Written on Dec 07, 2017
The G4 Slide Compensator affects my point of impact high and to the left. At 10 yards, the shift was 1.75 inches, and at 15 yards, it was at 3-4 inches high left. at 25 yards, I am barely hitting center pass on a human sized target. I would not use this or recommend this for the point of impact shift alone.
Upon removing the Compensator, the finish on the slide (in the front) around the barrel is heated/muffed and is marred. I attempted to wipe it off thinking it was just carbon, it is not. It permanently removes/degrades the finish around the slide.
Lastly, there was no marked difference in recoil reduction. Only recoil/muzzle rise reduction I believe is from the added weight at the front of the pistol. I shot this back to back with and without it on and the difference in recoil is not that great.
Only Pro is that you can now chamber a round using one hand by racking against the table or wall...but that's about all this thing adds.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. The negligible difference in recoil DOES NOT and WILL NEVER be worth the significant shift in Point of Impact and at a smaller level, the cosmetic damage it does to the slide. The point of impact shift is the most significant reason why I will not recommend.
