Canted to the right when placed on the rail, rings do not align, terrible finish

Written on May 08, 2019

I reviewed the 1 inch version of this earlier and it is basically the same except I took a closer look in anticipation of my scope arriving and attached this to my AR upper rail. I noticed it is massively canted to the right and the rings are not inline with themselves. If you look down the empty rings the center is like an inch off to the right of the front sight. Just terrible. I went back to look at my 1 inch one with a scope already installed and sure enough it's similarly canted to the right but not as bad. I don't know how I let that slip by before, but it's too late to return my other one. Same things apply as before, bad finish but it does lock down. Overall, spend your money somewhere else.

Inexpensive QD mount that functions well, not rock solid but definitely sturdy enough for range time

Written on Mar 31, 2019

The qd levers use a pulling mechanism to unlock and lock. The front and rear levers will "run into" each other when released. Adjustments are good and available in small increments, this is something even expensive qd scope mounts sometimes lack so big plus there. I dislike the torx screw choice, as I have to carry around an extra wrench instead of just using allen head screws. The finish is terrible, flaked in some places and feels rougher to the touch than standard anodizing found on receivers and hand guards. Can't speak for the metal itself, haven't used it much outside of mounting it but it feels/looks like 6061 aluminum. All in all, this thing definitely feels snug on the rail and the screws work to clamp down the scope. If you don't mind it looking worn from the poor finish (kind of feels like paint) and just want an inexpensive qd scope mount that works, this will do it.

I have not gotten the opportunity to test return to zero.
