Excellent mounts for most any setup

Written on Sep 16, 2015

I've got more than five and less than 10 of these right now. A great pretty precision mount that doesn't have the clunkyness of a rail and ring setup. They are usually good enough to not need to hone or cleanup. It would be nice if the tactical and 20mil didn't cost significantly more (they don't need to) but they are still great rings and are my go-to scope setup.

A great hunting/target scope

Written on Sep 16, 2015

This is now my second and third copy of this model as the first is excellent. Sharpness is good at all magnifications. The mil based reticle is fantastic, no more fumbling around with how many 1/4moa clicks to fix the aimpoint. The scope is a bit longer than I'd like but otherwise its great. FFP would be nice but that is more $ so I end up leaving it at 18x most of the time unless I'm hunting.

Seems way too soft for a magnum pad.

Written on Jul 22, 2015

It does have quite a bit of squish which is good. It is very very soft though. Much much softer than the highly regarded Supercell pads. They give you a pin so the gun's weight doesn't crush it. I'm really hoping someone comes out with a grind to fit like the factory Rem Versa-max pad. That thing is fantastic (thick version of the supercell) it is really the benchmark for a magnum type pad.
