Razor Value

Written on Apr 02, 2025

Put the gen II 3-18X50 on Ruger FTW hunter 7mm PRC. A 2 pound scope on an 8.5 pound rifle. Used big 6 bolt 34mm night force rings on a murphy precision stainless picatinny base. Used scope ring rosin, and wet mount method on ring to base interface. All is secure and stable with Hornady 175gr ELD-X precision hunter ammo. Scope is well laid out, performs well, and optics are very clear. I like the lower knobs on the gen II for a hunting rifle. Price was right.

Excellent light picatinny/weaver ring

These are very light rings, well made, and quite snazzy in the anodized burnt bronze.

Tank tough and legit scope

Written on Feb 19, 2018

I put this heavy tank like scope on a 20" match AR-15 that i built for using 223 hornady black 75gr. HPBT ammo. After peering down the bore at a target and looking at the reticle it appeared it was already bore sighted for an A-3 flat top.

After using turrents to adjust, Third shot at 50yds was in bullseye, so next target was 100. I got it zeroed than proceeded to test it from 100, 200, 300 yards. Had to use STRELOK PRO for android app to use the BDC settings because my ammo is not the milspec zippy fast stuff. The optics are bright and clear, the hash marks and turrents do as advertised and do it well. The center dot appears to be 1 MOA so its easy to use it to get a stable centering on a target with grid squares of one inch. At 50 yards they all went in one hole at half inch. at one hundred they held 1-1/4 and 1-1.2 inches. at 200 and 300 my spotting scope could not resolve pipsqueek 22 caliber holes. The BDC worked on steel plates/Chickens and it is brain dead easy to connect using the BDC and strelok and kestrel 4000 weather settings.

American scope makers except for trijicon have their head where the sun does not shine when it comes to illuminated reticles, tactical reticles. They also seem stuck in flat black cosmetics instead of expanding out into gray and tan scope colors. And they wonder why we begin to buy chinese optics?

Scope is well worth the money if it holds up. Out of the shipping box performance, superb. I'll wager the price on these goes up if they ma

Best Hevy duty Tac Ring for the money

Written on Apr 08, 2015

Best ring without going high end stupid price point. Rings are great on full mil spec picatinny but will have empty space in the slot when ring is pushed all the way fwd in the cross slot. I guess it is so the lame weaver rails can also fit the ring. Rings grip well and do not damage scope and they stay tight. They mesh with 1913 mil-spec picatinny well. This ring is better quality than a few other tactical rings that are indeed full mil-spec picatinny. Have used these rings on 300 win mag, 308, 30-06, and 300 BLK all on top of the murphy precision picatinny rails, warne rails, weaver aluminum tactical, a-3 flat tops, and xs sight rails.
