I found this solid reproduction top notch for the price. Comparing it to my original ones there is little difference. I replaced the clasp ring on the pin chain with a split style ring. It fits my guns just like the originals. If you want an original be prepared to pay twice as much at least.

I have purchased 3 of these tripods and they continue to be of excellent fabrication. I decided to Parkerize them to be more historically accurate and when I say the powder coating on these is tough it is no exaggeration. About the only thing that will remove the coating is glass medium blasting. All steel construction so Parkerizing is easy. Highly recommend this item. The pintle offered is also an excellent copy of the original. I have a T&E mechanism on back order now but expect the same high quality.

This is an excellent replacement for the original M-2 and M-3 Tripod US Army issue pintle. It's in the blue and steel and has the correct bolt with castle nut. Fits the tripod bushing perfectly. A very sound investment and much less expensive than an original. I recommend this item completely.

I bought one of these in 2018 and it is excellent in detail and strength. It has a black powder coating but can be painted easily as many original tripods were painted. I changed out the metric bolts for US standard hardware but it's not necessary. All the bolt holes accept US hardware.The traverse bar is Parkerized and I recommend that the markings be filled in with white contrast as per the originals. I ordered another one in 2019 in October and it was back ordered until December but it is the same quality. A real bargain for the price. Brass pintel bushing is perfect.
