This Trybe barrel in gold was a great price. The finish looks nice with a matte gold. Their logo on the top and side of the chamber appears to be laser engraved and not as sharp or crisp as I would expect. The larger logo on the side also detracts from the amount of gold that is seen. The finish and the logo’s were not very durable. After only 25 rounds they showed lots of wear. That is likely due to the two slide locking, pistol jamming, total disabling malfunctions that occurred within 17 rounds. The pistol was locked open and had to be struck against the bench to dislodge it. There were signs of tremendous wear for 25 rounds on the chamber and barrel. I have fired over a thousand through the Sig barrel, 450 from the Zaffiri barrel, and 250 from the True Precision on the same pistol, before and after the Trybe without any problems. I really appreciate Optics Planet for making it right and refunding the purchase.

The machine work, finish, and engraving are excellent. The gold is a matte finish and is very durable after over 200 rounds with very little wear. The engraving of the logo, name, model, and caliber are all crisp and easy to read. I like that there is no loaded chamber indicator cut in the top of the chamber. The best thing is that it actually improves accuracy and functions flawlessly. Over 200 rounds of 115, 124, and 147 grain FMJ and JHP all with similar accuracy and complete reliability. I bought it primarily for appearance with the hope of upgrading accuracy and reliability and I am very pleased. It cost less than the Sig gold barrel and is more accurate than the Zaffiri Precision, which looks the best and is also a good barrel at a good price.

This barrel in the stainless steel finish looks great. It’s shiny, the markings are sharp, the twisted barrel flutes look special, and the flush fit deep cut crown looks amazing. After about 200 rounds there were no malfunctions from 115 grain FMJ, 147 and 124 grain hollow points. There was no improvement in accuracy compared to stock. The barrel was also harder to clean. There is some machine tooling marks on the top of the chamber that doesn’t match the rest of the finish of the barrel. There is also slide wear on the bottom half of the barrel, nothing to worry about just normal wear and tear. The barrel was a great price, it looks good and it’s reliable but it didn’t improve accuracy or function compared to stock. I prefer it over stock based on looks alone.

The grip looks and feels good. After installing the FCU the trigger was being restricted while dry fired and had to be reset manually. It looks like the right side of the grip was bowed inwards against the trigger bar and caused excessive pressure and friction.

This grip module fits the hand well with a straight back strap, palm swell, finger contours, and extended beaver tail. The front and back checkering is aggressive. The grip texture extends high on the the frame and feels grippy and ergonomic. A nice upgrade at a low price compared to Sig and other brands and Wilson Combat has a great reputation. Highly recommended.
