Magnetospeed to the rescue

So, word of advise do not try to buy one of these on ebay. The bayo should be flat and clean, not like a bullet augered a little groove on the top of the bayo surface. It is also surprisingly hard to find a picture or video showing the top of the byo. Aside from that this is beautiful! I sat, read the instructions, played with different spacers to get it exact. I may be a little more paranoid given my previous experience with the ebay one and I do not want to ruin the bayo, so I might be more cautious than most setting this up. I figured getting it mounted at home saves valuable range time, which I highly recommend. There's 2 sensors in the bayo, you can feel when I used the micrometer in the verification step with a cleaning rod sticking out of the muzzle measuring the gap between the rod and top of the bayo. The distance has to be 1/16" of each other, and you'll feel the magnetic pull of where the sensors are when you measure. I got lucky and both the rifles I tend to use for this are the same stack of spacers. The strap is a little tricky at first, but it could be me over thinking it some since it is getting strapped to the barrel. I recommend backing the securing knob out as much as possible with maybe just a few threads engaged, tighten the slack out of the strap, then start tightening the knob. It is in the instructions, but maybe tighten helps the next person a little easier. I would think to make it easier if you have different barrel dimensions and need different spa

I'm really excited to put this to use. Hoping for my first 1,000 yard shot soon, wanted the blaze orange so I don't lose it. Setup was decent, the bullet selection is pretty awesome just to select and put in your cartridge profile. Hopefully get some muzzle velocities soon to plug that in and should be ready to rock n' roll. I'm not super tech savvy so I just followed the instructions. Had to look up a couple things on kestrel website just so I didn't mess something up. I wasn't used to a couple of the terminology, but clicking on the abbreviations on the kestrel gives the description of what they're asking for. I about went cross eyed trying to get the measurement for the mid point in the bolt to the middle of the windage adjustment know. Just take you time setting it up, I wouldn't rush the process. The link to the phone app is cool too. It looks like you can save and transfer information from the app to the kestrel, and vice-versa, I assume so you can back up your data. I think this will be an extremely valuable tool in my future. Might also invest in a hard case, need to make sure it lasts a long long time. It is fascinating technology especially since I'm a pencil and paper person. So I imagine I'll be getting things figured out and have paper copies as back-ups. Instructions are pretty adamant about how to hold it, I don't have it in front of me right now, but I think it does say let it sit for 15 minutes to stabilize before use after turning it on. Little stuff like th
