Too much play for attached stock

Written on May 02, 2024

The only problem with this setup is the amount of slop there is with the stock or brace you put on it. I'm trying different brands of stocks and I might be able to layer some tape on the top of the adapter arm to snug things up, but thats the only thing wrong and can be somewhat fixed if using a stock with an anti slop adjustment or retaining screw. Everything else is beautiful, 1913 mount is very solid once it's torqued to the picitinny rail.

It can't be beat as an iron sight, however, you pay for it.

Written on Sep 30, 2022

I've never used a more intuitive, accurate iron sight, but, although the sight will mount directly to most threaded AR15 caliber barrels, you will need to purchase a brake/compensator, muzzle break, or flash-hider from Ultradyne in that caliber to mount the front sight. However, you could get away with one or two rear sights. These are quality sights, with an excellent finish, and quality hardware and material. Before buying, look up the Ultradyne website, so there are no surprises, plus you can see the different options and compensators available.

Heritor Automatic Pierce excellent quality!

Written on Jun 07, 2022

The heritor automatic watch is definitely a quality timepiece. However, I was able to get this model on optic planet sister site dvor.com for $90. Nonetheless, The watch, so far, has not let me down. The one thing I would mention is that if you have big forearms, you'll probably need to buy a bigger watch band, which you could order at the time you're ordering the watch. The band that comes with the watch is a soft genuine leather band that I intend to replace with a hook and loop band. This model is also very similar in looks to the Seiko dive watches of the '80s and currently very popular. The Pepsi watch is what they called the particular watch with the blue and red bezel and worn by Magnum PI in the beginning of the franchise series. I only know this due to noticing it the other day when I was channel surfing. The only con I can see is the watch band and other than that, only time will tell.

Amazing Dez Arms M4 16" 7.62x39mm barrel

Written on Apr 13, 2022

I heard about Dez Arms and some really nice m4 7.62x39mm AR barrels. I finally started to seek one out and I was fortunate to get the barrel on Optics Planet's site at a relatively good price. This is easily the nicest 7.62 x 39mm AR barrel I've come across. It has a NIB barrel extension and a match grade carbine gas, 1:10 twist, and a good phosphate coating{ Only disappointment, but not worth losing a star, since it was done very well, just wish it had a nice black nitride finish like most mid & upper grade Faxon barrels ). Performance is were this barrel really shines, increasing accuracy and decreasing post range cleaning time. As I put more rounds down range to break it in, I'll try and update the accuracy with some pics and sub-moa groupings.

The best sights on the market

Written on Nov 11, 2020

What an amazing setup with the muzzle brake and the front sight mounting to the barrel. All I can say is 'go pickup a set' and you'll understand. The front sight and compensator include a timing nut, which allows the user to properly mount the system in minutes, without the need of shims or any specialty type tools. This system allows you to take accurate shots with just iron sights, out to 600 yards. Sounds unbelievable, but Ultradyne's patented front sight, with its unique concentric circle through the sight post. Now, you can see the object you're shooting at, rather than covering up the object with the standard front post.

Spend a little more and get a SB Tactical SBA3

Written on Nov 11, 2020

Very unhappy with the Shockwave 2.0. It's uncomfortable and worst of all, it feels hokey and rattles, due to the lack of quality. I would highly recommend spending a little more and get a Tailhook or SB Tactical's SBA3 pistol brace.
