We were tired of the cheap plastic Butler Creek Flip up covers breaking off each time we removed or inserted the rifles into the carry cases. The BC Covers never really fit well on most Leupold scopes. I held off buying this due to the price. What a mistake. When you figure the cost of 2-3 BBC's the price evens out. This cover fits perfectly and is made of a hard material. It is a threaded system and therefore does not come off when it is hot as the BCC covers do. The locking mechanism on the latch is well made and it does not spring open when you withdraw it from the rifle case. If you use your rifle in a harsh climate this is the way to go. It really keeps the dust and dirt out as well as protects the lip of the scope We will be putting these on more of our rifles.

We had been using the Butler Creek Flip up covers and had no luck with them, they do not fit well and they open when you withdraw your rifle from a case or scabbard. I bought these threaded covers and they are very well made and the fit is PERFECT. The Arizona country side is dusty and dirty and loaded with rocks, you nee all the protection on your lenses that you can get. At first I thought that it would take too much time to get the front cover off. Wrong, wow it un screws quickly and you can make your shot. The fit is almost like it is waterproof it fits so well. These are the only caps to have for storage, travel or hard use.
