I bought this to replace the standard Magpul grip on the Savage 10 Ashbury Precision. It is a great improvement over the standard one specially with the adjustment available in the APO frame. Easy to install and adjust.

I bought the TLR-8 because Optics Planet had it on sale. I had been thinking of getting a green laser instead, but the price at Optics Planet for the this laser and light combo was too good to pass up. I may not use the light a lot, but the red laser is excellent. It is clearly visible at any distance I would use my 9mm at. It is also surprisingly compact.
The light is also very bright. Not sure if if is really 500 lumen, but plent bright for indoor use, even in a big space.

This is a good basic unit and will give you altitude, barometric pressure and temperature. You will have to manually enter the information into whatever Ballistic Application you use. I haven't used the wind speed function yet because the last two times at the range, there was no wind. Using the other data along with my ballistic app and chronographed speed for my factory ammo, I dialed the elevation on my scope and was ringing steel at 1000 yards. I would recommend this if you are looking for a basic unit and willing to plug in the data. Make sure you calibrate for altitude/pressure before using it.

The RX-1600i is very easy to use and configure for your preferences. I did read the section on different display modes a couple of times.
I compared measurements at the range at 500 yards with a few other rangefinders and it was spot on compared to much more expensive ones. I haven't had a chance to use the angle adjustment, but reading through the documentation and examples, it all makes sense.
Great product and fast shipping from Optics Planet.
There are a few newer, more expensive range finders that sync data through bluetooth and that may be future upgrade, but for the price, the RX-1600i great.

The throw lever works great and was easy to install. It fits very securely and makes it easy to both know the magnification and adjust it. I installed mine such that for max magnification the lever is at the 5 o’clock position. That makes it easy to go from mid magnification (at around 1 o’clock) to a higher magnification.
As far as installation, I removed the screw as instructed but did not have to separate the ring into two parts as indicated. It slid into place without having to separate it. I thought about putting threadlock on the screw that closes the ring, but didn’t.
Overall happy with the purchase, was able to get it for a good price at Optics Planet (less than anywhere else I searched) but still expensive for what it is. There are ones from other manufacturers for slightly less, but for what the Razor costs, didn’t seem like saving $10 for a non vortex item. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is price.

I have had this scope for about a month and any doubts about the high price have vanished. I first got to use the Vortex Razor HD Gen II a couple of months ago at a Long Range Rifle class. One of the students was using it on a Tikka 6.5. It was so much clearer, crisper and easier to see the target than on the Viper that had been provided for the class, I knew that was what I wanted for my rifle. Granted neither of the two scopes I had used before, the Vortex Viper on the class gun and the Nikon Prostaff 5 I had on my rifle were in the same category as the Razor.
A few weeks later the Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5 - 27 went on sale at Optics Planet and I ordered one. I also bought a Geissele 20 MOA mount. The Vortex arrived a couple of days before another class I was taking. I mounted it and took it to the range and zeroed it at 100 yards. That weekend I shot the Vortex out to 980 yards on my HK MR762A1…..I had zeroed it using Hornady Superformance 165 ELD-Match ammo (which I had chronographed). I was consistently hitting targets and easily seeing my hits. I used the recommended dialup from Ballistic AE and it was within .5 MOA of what I ended up adjusting to. Some notes on zeroing and the mount below….
Zeroing it was not as easy as other scopes, but then setting the zero stop was easier than on the Vortex Viper. The adjustment under the caps was not as precise as the turret adjustment…. perhaps I was doing something wrong. It took more adjust and shoot that with my
