Business End Too Short

Written on Dec 07, 2019

Haven't used them yet, but right away I noticed the business end of these punches is too short. They will be OK for seating a pin, but they will not be long enough to drive a pin all the way out. Quality appears to be OK. I'd previously purchased a cheaper punch set from Harbor Freight and the diameters were oversized so they wouldn't fit in the hole rendering them useless. I measured these with a caliper and the diameters are spot on to one or two thousandths undersize.

If you don't need to drive pins completely out these will be fine. If you need to drive pins all the way out then find some with longer stems.

Good rings for the built in receiver scope mount grooves on .22 rifles

Written on Dec 01, 2016

I bought these for a friend based on other reviews. I plan to help him install them next week. I won't know how well they keep the scope in place until after he shoots at our next Project Appleseed marksmanship clinic. If your equipment is sketchy there is a good chance you will find out during an Appleseed event because you go through two full days of intensive instruction and generally fire in excess of 500 rounds. These appear to be quality rings. If they let me down I'll come back and post a second review.

Great Set of Rings

Written on Dec 01, 2016

I used to have issues with scope creep on my 10/22's when using cheaper rings. I finally got tired of dealing with the problem and decided to get better rings. I now have these on four different rifles and I haven't had a single scope walk on me yet. It took me a little while to pony up to pay the extra cash to put these on a .22 rifle but looking back I'm glad I did. Not having to deal with the problems that always seem to show up at the worst possible time was worth it.

Great Mount

I have several of these mounted on 10/22's because the factory issue mounting system is too short and won't allow you to mount a scope far enough forward. They are very solid and I like them quite a bit.
