WARNING - Not Completely Compatible with RMR on FN 509
Written on Oct 03, 2022
The front sight is obscured by the RMR’s base on an FN 509. I got it installed and to my extreme disappointment, the bottom third of the front sight ring is obscured by the RMR. I own three FN 509’s … the first two are FN 509 Tactical MRD’s and they come with suppressor-height night sights that are great. Same on my FNX .45 Tactical. Co-witness is perfect. The RMR’s bottom does peek out above the bottom of the front-sight’s notch, but it is just a sliver and doesn’t interfere with the front sight. The third 509 did not come with night sights - just blacked-out suppressor-height sights. Hence the need to replace them with these Trijicon night sights. But.

Unfortunately, I was able to confirm that the sight picture shown is normal for these sights on your FN509 firearm. The sights were originally designed for use with a suppressor, long before optic-ready firearms became prevalent. Unfortunately, we do not have alternate heig
