Good tool to have on hand

The Maglula UpLULA universal pistol magazine loader worked on magazines for all my 9mm handguns. It feels a little loose on steel magazines than on Glock magazines, but the aligner makes it a non-issue.
It definitely works better than the magazine loaders found in some packages like the XDm series. It may not be as compact as factory magazine loaders, but when locked in the collapsed position it's not overly bulky and can fit in any range bag.
It says it can work with 1911 single stack magazines if you purchase the MagLULA 1911AI add-on, but I haven't bought and tried it personally.

5.11 Tactical 6.10 Vertical Pouches
Having two of these made a big difference in the utility of 5.11 Tactical's 36" single gun case without making it too bulky. Before I could hold only my rifle, some magazines, and some small items. With two of the 6.10 pouches I can now hold my earmuffs, eye protection, boxes of ammo, and cleaning supplies in the same case. The quality is great as expected from 5.11 and their SlickStick system made mounting a breeze.
Low profile protection

I bought the Magpul ladder rail protector to protect the side rails on an already very wide fore-grip. These did the job perfectly as they don't add even more to the width or weight. The rungs of the ladder rail protector do have a bit of friction to them, at least compared to anodized aluminum, and can provide a bit of a better grip when dry. Cuts to size easily with a box cutter if you need to custom fit it or break it up into smaller sections.
The rails do sit taller than the rails they protect. It does protect better this way, but it also means that it won't fit under some folded BUIS which leads to a few exposed rails if you ever deploy the sights.
