This barrel is perfect for what I was trying to build.. I installed a Volquartsen forward blow comp, also. After 40 rounds of break-in, it was punching less that .32 inch holes at 25 yards with CCI Standard Velocity. I was at an short indoor range as it was 5 degrees outside, and the results are with someone shooting a 30-06 with a brake in the lane next to me. Looking forward to better weather and getting this outside to stretch its legs. It's mounted in a Volquartsen receiver (tight fit, barrel was put in the freezer and had to heat the receiver with a hair dryer to persuade it in), uses a Volquartsen bolt and a Kidd two-stage trigger. Everything is mounted in a Victory Titan22 stock with a Harris bipod and Vortex Venom 5-25x56 scope.

I know I could have just bought a Volquartsen rife and saved some coin (what's the fun in that?), but building it with that Kidd two-stage trigger with a flat blade... And finding out how great that trigger is, so nice!

Overall, very happy with this barrel and expect it will tighten up even more with practice.

The Giessele MK8 rail looks and performs perfect!!! I would recommend any or all of these components.
