Just got this right out of the post office, ripped it open like a kid getting a redemption coupon from a cereal box and whoa, is this really a Vortex product? I have binocs from this brand and they are top quality, even had to use the super great warranty when they got busted up. But, hey, this guy doesn't work very well. The twist eyepiece feels like a scratchy un-lubricated, dare I say, cheap plastic device and the focus ring is about as bad, though it's very, very, very tight.

It looks as though the case has been redesigned form previous reviews, but I'm not impressed with it either. It's not very logical and the clip doesn't "fit" with the design and function of the instrument. It's like, "let's put a clip on this".....can we use something from the scrap metal pile? The clip has no curve to fit in and it's bare metal......no rubber coating here.

Looking through the eyepiece is a challenge too.....maybe I don't how to work it, but finding the "view" is like scanning for something hidden. You have to wiggle it around until something comes in view and maybe it'll stay, but a slight jiggle and it's gone. Whew.....it wears you out having to shut the other eye to focus and find.

I'm not impressed and will probably send it back......what a hassle that is......package the thing up, take it to the packing store or post office to ship. Even with free returns, it's a pain. Just my luck that the product that I choose is a bummer. Dang!!
