LWRCI Advanced Ambidextrous Charging Handle

Written on Oct 04, 2026

I bought this for a new build. I was after a different charging handle because I try and use different stuff each build to try new things. Its built very robust. It seems stiffer in the latches than a lot of my other charging handles, but in a good way. They feel strong, not obnoxious or difficult. The latches are comfortable to use as they are nicely rounded. Feels very high quality in the hand, and in the rifle. It's slightly less wide than some other ambi handles. It's 2 and 7/16" wide. For comparison my BCM Mk2 ambi, Breek Arms Sledgehammer and Griffin SN-ACH are all 2 and 5/8" wide, if that's a factor for you. 5 stars, very nice addition to a new build.

Add a bit of color

Written on Sep 10, 2026

I bought this mag release in red for a new build and I paired it with an AT3 bright red mag release button. The reds don't exactly match as the AT3 is a deep non metallic fire engine red, and the Fortis is a less bright metallic red. Both look very nice. I don't paint my guns save for a cerakote project I did one time, but I like a little bit of color so I usually get different color mag releases, takedown/pivot pins and safeties for a little color. It looks really nice and I own some Fortis hand guards and they do great work.

BCM MK2 Recoil System

Written on Sep 10, 2026

This is the 3rd one of these I own. One came stock in a BCM lower and I put one in a separate build after that. I'm a BCM guy and I like the A5 style system. It comes with a QD endplate which is one thing I always put in my builds anyway. I was thinking of getting the T2 as this is going in a SBR that will be suppressed, but with other features in the build, I emailed BCM and they suggested starting with the T1.

Upgrade from factory lower

Written on Sep 04, 2026

I wanted one of these for a while, and got one for a potential build. I replaced the Gunfighter Mod 0 stock that came on a BCM lower, nothing wrong with the Mod 0 stock, this was just something I wanted to try, and I love it. I prefer the ambi adjustment lever on this. Spring is stiff and strong feeling without being a nuisance. Easier on and off than the Mod 0, as this is tool-less. I like the risers too, for consistency when shouldering. No factory QD spots, but you can attach an mcm qd sling mount if you want that. Good price, as I got it on a summer sale, and great quality. It's BCM, what else would you expect? I happily recommend this.

Rail Covers

Not a huge fan of M-lok, but several items I have are M-lok compatible. I AM a BCM fan so this was a no-brainer and a long time in the making. Very easy to install and have that nice BCM grip pattern like their pistol grips and foregrips. They just snap right into place, I didn't cut any down, but I have no doubt they're easy to custom fit. Very affordable and comes in a 5 pack. I usually use Magpul XT or XTM panels or their M-lok covers which have a bit more surface area covered, so they're not super ideal if you want a streamlined, compact, minimal coverage. These are what you would want for that setup, they add virtually nothing to bulk, weight or size. Its BCM, so its quality.

Backup Sight Rear

Written on Jun 06, 2026

Purchased for a set of backups for a build. I put gray and black XTM panels on it so I bought this Gen 3 front sight and a Gray gen 2 rear to keep with the aesthetic. Easy to install, easy to use, affordable, high quality...everything Magpul has been synonymous with. Only thing getting used to with mixing generations is the gen 3 front it actuated from the front of the sight and the gen 2 are actuated from side paddles. I usually buy the MBUS Pro steel sights but I wanted to try the polymer. 5 stars.
