Almost Perfect.

This is my 2nd Midwest Industries AK mount. The first was one of their older model single 30mm ring mount. Used that with an Aimpoint red dot for years and had no issues with it and it consistently held zero. It lined up perfectly with the bore. I’ve been wanting to try an EoTech on my AK so Midwest Industries was my first choice for a picatinny mount to make it happen.
This is the perfect sized rail space for an EoTech 512 and the price is good compared to other options. It’s great quality and the QD feature is handy, the rail is T marked if that means anything to you. It’s rock solid and sits close enough to the top cover to where you can use irons with nothing on the mount or probably co-witness with a low profile optic. Very versatile too, I could basically run anything with a picatinny attachment on this thing.
My ONLY gripe is that there’s no way to adjust it laterally so there’s a chance it won’t line up perfectly with your bore and there’s not much you can do about it. In my case, it sits slightly to the right. Not enough to make it unusable, especially with an EoTech that has a wide window, but enough to notice it without the optic. When I first got it, I was on the fence of returning it because of this. I gave it a chance and it works perfectly and I don’t even notice or think about it while shooting. I did try it on a few different AKs I own and it fit each one differently.
Overall, I am happy with this mount and don’t have any concerns about it falling apart on

Yet another junk product from Sightmark. I had high hopes for this optic but I was greatly let down. When I first got it I tested everything on it and it worked great, seemed like a very solid red dot for the price. The next day when I went to put it on my rifle it wouldn’t power on. I tried everything and even tried 3 different brand new batteries with no avail. I kept messing with it throughout the day to see if it would turn on and nothing. I ended up returning it and will never buy another Sightmark product. I got one of their EOtech knock offs a few years ago that was a pure joke. Save your money and get at least a Holosun or Primary Arms optic.

Major improvement

FAB Defense SA. VZ. 58 Pistol Grip
Although I love the looks of the standard issue beaver barf furniture on VZ58 rifles, the small grip just doesn’t play well with my large hands. This grip is a perfect fit and has greatly improved my dexterity and handling of the rifle. It’s very well made; doesn’t seem cheap at all. The storage compartment is also a plus for spare batteries. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking to get a better hold on your VZ and don’t mind the tacticool modern look.

exactly what I was looking for.

Got this for a Draco nak9. The original thread protector was missing and I wanted an inexpensive muzzle device with a similar profile to keep the gun compact. This fit the bill better than any other option I could find. Had to use a crush washer which made it fit perfectly. It protrudes maybe half an inch from the end of the barrel and is not bulky like other brakes can be. Not really sure how much of an effect it has on muzzle climb or flash as the gun has hardly any recoil to begin with, but the crowned design is aesthetically pleasing.
Kind of a niche application I’m using it for but If you have a similar situation with a PCC then look no further.

Knob is loose after light usage.

Got this to pair with an attero arms rear sight mount for an AK that doesn't have a side optic mount. Was impressed with it at first considering the price. Seemed solid enough and the knob was very stiff and tactile at first, but after living on the rifle for a couple of months and seeing maybe 300 rounds the brightness knob came loose. Never dropped or abused it in any way that would cause it to break. It still works but I'm sure with another few hundred rounds (if that even) it'll loosen up even more and become totally worthless. I'm hoping primary arms has some sort of warranty so I'm not completely out of luck with it. Also, the dot isn't the most crisp, I've seen ebay optics with a better defined dot.

Simple and effective

Tdi Arms AKM Lower M-LOK Handguards
Simple and affordable way to modernize your AK a bit without making it look like an AR. It wasn't a plug and play fit on the rifle I installed it on (vska trooper) but as an AK owner you should be prepared for some fitting on any aftermarket parts. I crudely filed it a bit and smacked the heck out of it with a rubber mallet until it was in place. Very tight fit, dont ever see it walking out. Fits just fine with wood gas tube covers but I went with a magpul gas tube cover that I have had floating around in my parts bin for a while, it pairs great with this HG. Overall I'm glad I decided to go with this for the build I'm working on. It's solid and let's you increase the performance of your rifle with some modern attachments while retaining the same footprint of a traditional HG.

Defective out of the box.

Got this for for my SDS S12 (saiga 12 clone) because I wanted a holographic sight but didn't want to spend pretty much double what the gun itself costs on an eotech. Read plenty of reviews and decided to go with this one. The first thing I noticed after powering it on is that there was a very noticeable reflection from the projector right under the reticle... I'm assuming I got a dud that slipped through QC because I've never had an optic do that. I even have an ebay knock off eotech that I use on a .22 that has a way more clear reticle with no reflection whatsoever. Everything else about it seems solid, overall build quality is decent and it does look nice on the gun. It has held up and held zero so far after about 100 rounds of buckshot and slugs so I'll give it that. But, I won't really be impressed until its got 1k+ rounds and is still holding up. I would return it but it's not really worth the trouble. I'm only using the gun I bought this for as a range toy so it should suffice for that purpose. Definitely wouldn't recommend this optic for any serious applications.

Way better than crush washers
Written on Feb 22, 2023
Changed out the muzzle device on my Vska trooper and needed this since it doesn't have a front sight detent like a traditional AK. Very easy to install and time the muzzle break. Much easier and faster than crush washers I've used in the past on other rifles. Will definitely start using these instead.
