This rifle basix trigger ISN'T a Drop in in my Savage Hi Country Model 110 rifle

Written on Jul 06, 2025

First, let me say I have purchased several Rifle Basix triggers which were parts to install into the existing Savage accutrigger with good results. This time I ordered their "Savage 110 Target Trigger advertised as a Drop in replacement for "any" model 110. The video they recommend on line states there may be "minor" fitting required. My rifle is in 243 and it has an accustock with bottom bolt release. That's where the major problem arose because after I made "minor" fitting adjustments with a dremel tool and small jeweler file I got it installed in the action. With patient adjustment I got it to fire properly. When I went to put the action back into the stock it would not fit. I put a small thin layer of modeling clay into the stock and found the bottom of the trigger housing was touching the bolt release plate. I ground on the housing with my dremel till I finally realized that I would have to grind almost all of the trigger housing away where the trigger adjustment screw is located to get it to fit into the stock. Obviously I ruined the trigger unit and cannot return it. The trigger wont fit.. Save your money and don't buy it!
