I purchased this after trying a gen-1 monocular and was hoping for better performance. I have a photon night vision scope and love it. I was hoping for the same results being the same brand. The biggest problem is the IR illuminator. In total darkness I would say it is good to about 50 yards. I was hoping for performance, similar to my scope but it is far from it. The eye piece is loose and it moves slightly every time you put it up to your eye. This would not be a problem if the focus adjustment was not so sensitive, but the tiniest move you must re-focus it. The adjustment on top was a good idea for adjusting the brightness but you have to use two fingers to adjust it. If you try to adjust it with one finger it get out of balance and binds even when you try to be as gentle as possible. The optics were good and it seems like good quality but the performance was lacking.

I bought two of these and they had functioned and held up well. I have been using this for over a year and it has had quite a bit of use. For the price I don't think you can beat this price. I would buy it again.

I needed an upgrade to my stock on my 300 black-out for hog hunting. I needed one that was quiet and had storage for AA batteries for my night vision scope. This stock is quiet and holds my batteries nice and snug so there is no rattle. I would not hesitate from buying another one of these.

I ordered two of these and the first one had a real bad ghost right in the center of the lens. It was virtually impossible to use due to this. enery time I tried to scan in the field it looked as if soething was moving. The second one had very clear optics but the IR illuminator was aiming too far to the right so it only lit up half the viewing field. I have jumped up in price hoping for an improvement by trying the Bushnell Equinox Z. Hopefully I will be writing a good review for it in the near future.
