Hornady Black .223 Remington 62 grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Brass Centerfire Rifle Ammunition
I’ve been shooting target grade loads through my AR for years but decided to slow it down a little and step up on the ammo. With a new 18” barrel, trigger and bcg the setup just needed a balanced load. From experience I reached for the Hornady Black and put down 2” groups @100yds and just got better from there. The 62gr bullet in the Black profile is a perfect match for my setup.

Everyone needs more mags!

I like to go to the range with loaded mags, to save shooting time for shooting. I had to get a few new ones to share with my son, as we both have 10-22’s (gifts from his Grandpa), and this three-pack of OE Ruger is a great deal on OP. Also purchased 2 of the MTM 6-mag storage cases for these for protection.

I’m a big fan of organization and MTM has a great lineup of storage products. These shotshell boxes are great for de-cluttering and separating gauges. They can be labeled on the ends and stacked for storage. Keeps your shells clean and dry, much better than a cardboard box. Item comes in clear smoked also.

I’ve been searching for a decent inexpensive target for both handgun and rifle use. These are great at the indoor range where lighting can be questionable depending on distance. Outdoors these allow me to shoot my 6.5 Grendel rig @ 200yd and have 6 targets to work on “perforating” lol

Bought a new Sig and was shopping accessories on Optics Planet. Decided to give these a try, who doesn’t need more rounds? Overall quality is excellent, tight fit and finish and doesn’t add much length or weight. The 20 cartridges all fed flawlessly throughout several mag-dumps, and this is a worthy accessory. However at the range I noticed that the reduced spring tension would not allow the slide stop to work for the last round, every time. Not a big deal if you count as you fire, but I just hate pulling the trigger on an empty chamber.

Best metal mags

If you prefer metal, or just can’t find one for your platform, try these out. I bought a couple on recommendation from a shooting buddy and they’re the only mags I now run in my 6.5 Grendel rig. I’ve been back to Optics Planet a few times (lol) and wound up with a total of 8! You can never have enough mags, right?

Turns my 20ga into a Master Blaster! We keep the Mossberg available for home defense, but I get the itch to shoot stuff with it. So need to replenish ammo inventory and always go for this Federal Power-Shok in #3 buck. Reliable, clean, plenty powerful, and effective.
