picatinny ail adapter

Written on Jul 26, 2025

This item will work on a standard width forearm on a rifle. It will not fit a wide or tactical forearm rifle. It converts a narrow forearm rifle sling stud to a picatinny/weaver mount for a rail mount tripod.

Timney vs savage trigger

Written on Jun 24, 2025

If you own a Savage rifle with the accutrigger on a model 10 bolt action rifle, this is the replacement trigger to use.
It is not the trigger for the A17 model rifles.
If you try to set the trigger pull weight to minimum with a accutrigger, a problem can arise where the firing pin gets blocked when the trigger is pulled. The interposer will not allow the firing pin to hit the primer with enough force for the round to go off. This is indicated by a mark on the primer (small dimple). This has happened with several different shooters using my rifles.
The Timney replacement works very well, BUT you may have to set the sear engagement screw for more engagement of the sear. This is necessary if with the safety fully engaged, the trigger is not fully locked out.
I have replaced the Savage accutrigger with the Timney trigger on all of my Savage models 10-12 with great success (8 rifles).
Very easy to install.

tactical holster

This holster works fine for a Glock model 35, but there can be a problem. The problem is with a MOS gen 4 pistol with Leupold Delta Pro optic, and co-witness sights. The co-witness front sight is too high, and will not allow the pistol to be placed into the holster, and if you do get it in, you can't get it out. I modified my holster by removing the top of the holster that the front co-witness sight was hitting,(Dremel tool) and gluing a piece of brass across the bottom (Gorilla Glue Epoxy). This supports the sides of the holster, so it does not spread sideways, and retains the pistol. Granted, this was not an authorized modification, but it was the only way I could make it work with my problem. The holster works fine now. The co-witness sight is from Dawson Precision (310-197)

It works as designed.

I found that this mag pouch works well for the Glock magazines.
The retention is very positive. I tried the .40 caliber springfield
magazines, and they were retained, but because of the metal sides they did
pull out easier. My test with the glock magazines was with them empty.
Both tests were with `the magazines dry.
