Well made and sturdy, but the Arisaka "indexer" model is noticeably more comfortable to use as a hand stop because it's flatter. I'm specifically talking about using it against the back of your hand and pulling the rifle towards your should. It's probably also more comfortable using it between fingers as well, but I don't grip that way.

This is a nice semi-permanent mount. Attach your optic then slide it onto your upper receiver rail from the back, insert the cross bolts, and tighten down. Virtually impossible to come off unintentionally.
Another reviewer rated it poorly because it didn't put his holosun sight at lower 1/3. Holosuns and aimpoints don't have the same height. A little investigative internet searching on his part would've made that apparent. This is not advertised as a holosun mount, but most aftermarket sights for aimpoint micros will fit certain holosun RDS's. Absolute co-witness height aimpoint micro mounts will put holosun 403 and 503 series red dots at about 1/3rd co-witness height.

Be advised these plates are single curve and not multi-curve. With base coat they weigh 6lbs 15.5oz and with the anti-spall coat they weigh 7lbs 14oz. I own 2 and one was purchased directly from AR500. This is not optic planet's fault. When I contacted AR500 they got right back to me. Acknowledged the discrepancy and then blew me off. That said, I do believe they will stop the threats they claim to and then some. The advertised dimensions of 10x12 is accurate. No problems fitting in PC's designed for 10x12 plates. If you want true multi-curve steel check out spartan.

Glass has better optical quality than Aimpoint T2. Circle dot reticle is crisper than Eotech in a much smaller and lighter package. More than bright enough for any situation on this planet. The mount sucks. The optic is compatible with all aimpoint micro mounts, but center line is 3-4mm higher than aimpoint. So if you're trying to pair it up with a magnifier, you have to get an adjustable mount. Most absolute cowitness mounts will put this optic near lower 1/3 witness height. I do wish it had clear flip caps like aimpoint. For causal recreational use I prefer this to my aimpoints, eotechs, and trijicons. However, unlike those optics, this holosun has not been taken to war and had it's durability proven in battle. That's kind of a big deal and only time will tell.

Purchased to replace/upgrade a Magpul SL handguard. The Magpul was a lot more solid. I've tried 2 of these in mid length on 2 different uppers. Even put on a brand new barrel nut, delta ring assembly, and triangle end cap trying to get a solid fit. No dice. There was play in both, even with new hardware. I know that will only get worse over time. Some fasteners pinning the two halves together would fix the problem. MI does that with some of their other rails and should've done it with this one. Honestly, the UTG 2 piece drop in is more solid and more ergonomic, but it's only available in carbine length. I've used the carbine length version of this handguard and it was more solid due to subtle differences in machining, but I wouldn't trust it now either given what I've seen with the mid length version.

Perfect fit for P80 compact frame. It's tight and takes some force to make everything line up, but that's good. I wish it went all the way around. Would also be nice if the contours were smooth. None the less, this is the best fitting magwell I've found for p80 frames.

This is as good as it gets for an RDS at this point in time. Durable, light, accurate, long battery life, low to no distortion and parallax. I prefer the H2 over the T2 because I don't have night vision and the H2 has more intensity settings. The only downside is the cost. Scalarworks makes the best mount. The ADM and Larue have both been solid too.

This is as good as it gets for 1X RDS. Light weight, small, durable, amazing battery life. Aimpoint has the best glass. If you have night vision get the T2 otherwise the H2 offers you more options in settings for non night vision use. The clear lens covers are great at protecting the glass and still allowing you to shoot. There are a ton of aftermarket mounts. I have tried and like Scalarworks, Larue, and ADM. It's expensive, but it's nice to be happy with something you spend your hard earned money on vs settling. If you can afford it, you should be very satisfied. I have an astigmatism and the dot isn't perfect for my eyes, but still very usable.

There's a lot to like about this optic. The brightness settings cover everything from night vision to the brightest daylight. Rugged yet lightweight. Excellent field of view. Unfortunately (compared to Aimpoint T2/H2 or Eotech XPS2/XPS3) it has a fair amount of parallax and POI shift if not using consistent head position. The excellent FOV is a blessing and a curse. You need to keep the dot centered for accuracy and precision. I don't trust Trijicon's mount. Don't regret buying the optic. It's nice. Just wish I would've gone with an aftermarket mount from the get go.

Love my utg pro free float so I gave this a shot. The gap in the bottom of the hand guard made to accommodate the sight and bayonet lug ruins it. Right were you'd attach forward grips or hand stops. Even if you don't care about that, it still leaves a big gap exposing the bottom that can get very hot. They should've just made it a few millimeters bigger in diameter and covered the FSB entirely.
