I bought these for bowhunting to supersede my Pentax 9x28 which has been a great, compact bino. At London Drugs, was able to compare the Pentax to a Zeiss 10x42 Terra ED. The Zeiss was clearly superior, not surprisingly but also discontinued. I found a a Very favourable review on bestbinocularsreviews dot com for the Hawke Frontier 8x42 ED and decided to take a chance. What a great decision! My hunting partner has a set of the Zeiss bino as above. We were BOTH surprised at how much better the Hawke Bino’s are! Despite the lower magnification, the Hawke was brighter and had less distortion due to shake. This led to an overall clearer image.
