This is a hard review. I really like this option because it’s got everything you could ask for at a price that is very competitive. The adjustment is linear, brightness control is good, reticle is reasonably uniform, the view through the glass is ok... the motion sensor is really cool. It hasn’t failed me, my two Romeo5s have been dropped from at least 3 feet while mounted, both 1000s of rounds, operated in temps from 0-100 degrees. Don’t have anything bad to say, but I always use it thinking, “I could have had a XYZ for twice the price”.

This bit of kit was supposed to be a place-filler, it’s earned its place in the 12.5 inch AR system. So the mount is heavy(ish/er) than some, the thumb screw needed a lock washer and I ended up threadlocking it on because I do like it. It is mounted at the 12 o’clock and hangs to the left as operated at about the 10:30, what I consider a ‘safe from accidental activation’ location. If you run it just make sure to tighten the thumb screw occasionally, there are holes in it to use an allen key, HUGE plus.

I’ve used a many tac lights, this is one of my favorites. For the price, it is; reasonably durable, light, has an amazing light cast, brightness features. One often looked aspects of a flashlight is texturing, this one has it, its there but not too aggressive. If you plan to hammer nails with your light there are better known name brands.
