Precision timing nut for brakes and comps. Don't go cheap on these necessary parts. The threads are clean and precise and it just works.

I use jam nuts rather than crush washers or shims although they work fine also. Timing is easy and repeatable. Experimenting with muzzle devices is simplified. JP nuts are quality threaded and ground for a good interface and lockup. These are not cheap but you don't want to skimp when you need a threaded and ground locknut.

Not military grade, not for rough use. Otherwise excellent design. The clamp screws are very small, fine and need Loktite and 12 in/lbs max., or hand snug with careful threading so not to cross thread. There are half-width recoil lugs into which the clamp screws thread directly (no inserts). Wouldn't recommend for heavy recoiling guns. The mount offset helps with prism designs and their short eye relief. My use is primarily for .22's.

Overall this scope is recommended if you follow correct mounting procedures that all scopes need to take into account. There is no separate recoil lug and even if it did you need to follow correct installation procedures. This mount uses the cross bolt as the recoil lug. It is round with one side machined flat and faces forward against the lug to resist recoil shifting. After adjusting the clamp pressure set the sight on the rail, push firmly forward, if you can, and close the quick-release. I have never noticed sight movement POI shift on different rifles. The build quality is excellent on these compact lightweight prisms. Initially, you must determine your 'length of pull' and scope position on the rail to correctly determine 'eye relief' to get a full picture. Prisms have a shorter eye relief and they are often positioned all the way back on the receiver.

The complete upper offered here is high quality. I got it for a milled Black Rain lower (Fallout15) I've had for years and used as as a test bed for trigger testing. However, it has the shorter hand guard and the barrel is a government profile without the M4 carbine grenade launcher cut. This was not a deal killer for me. My only complaint is the white lettering on the inside of the port cover which I blacked out.

Fine holster, nice russet brown leather, finished edges and quality stitching. Matches Desperado belt and holster. Well formed cylinder fit, a bit stiff but easily broken in according to the usual holster techniques. Leather trigger retainer fully functional after adjustment. Has a shiny top finish but can be modified if desired. No complaints on this lined model.

Bought to reload a 1955 S&W Highway Patrolman. Gun has Standard grips. not target model. Works fine but must practice to build speed and muscle memory. Custom grips may interfere with reloading. Need to find a pouch that keeps the loaders secure and upright.

I have used BCM/VLTOR charging handles and they are excellent. Both single and ambidextrous versions work flawlessly. I picked up several of these Raptors and love the design. Large & larger finger latches with substantial pivot pins suggest well thought out real world of hard use. Appreciate the heavily grooved surface. I am left handed so I prefer ambidextrous handles now. Even though the stock handle does the job they are small and can be obstructed by some optics. If you wear gloves, have large hands or shoot lefty in all manner of positions these ambidextrous handles give you options. Besides, this model looks sharp.

The Leupold Mark 4 line of scopes are known for great light transmission and clarity. Up there with the best. Illuminated reticle is nice in low, dim light where the fine hash marks tend to disappear. Paired with an American Defense Recon 30 mount the combo is easily one of my favorite packages. Low profile turrets are nice. Finish is excellent

I received this as a bonus when I purchased a Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40 LR/T M2 Illuminated Reticle scope. Used it when purchasing an American Defense Recon 30 scope mount. Great glass and mount combo. Thank you Optics Planet!
