The alignment bars make it easy to track your progress once you've started. Take some time to see how the points come together properly; for me it it was a matter of getting the right angle to see the point. Once you get a look at how the points should align, then it makes it easier to know when you are done.
The lapping bar is nice and sturdy and that lets you get a good rhythm going. I put a piece of painters tape around the handle to keep from dinging the scope rings.
This is a great product to ensure your scope sits properly in the rings to give the most accuracy possible.

While there may be more expensive, higher-end scopes out there, you will be hard-pressed to find a better value. The glass clarity is exceptional. And I am impressed with the amount of eye relief. I can easily find a comfortable spot on my cheek weld. The scope feels solid and well-made. I have paired the scope with 1-inch Luepold rings and it fits nicely. I was able to secure two of these from Optics Planet for less than $200. It doesn't get much better than that. Excellent choice. I am very pleased.
