Gap too large
Written on Apr 25, 2025
Review for
TANDEMKROSS Eagle Eye Rear Sight Set
OK, I'm not an expert shooter by any means, so take this with a grain of salt. I find the gap a bit too large for me. Compared to the stock rear sight supplied with the Ruger 57, I find it easier to hit the target with stock sight. I find it more difficult to center the front sight in the rear sight of the Tandemkross Eagle Rear Sight. Simply too much room in the gap to play with. I have not tried the peep sight yet.

Good so far

Two of these units were purchased. One for a Ruger 57 and one for a Ruger Security 9. The green dot is bright and sharp and the auto brightness seems to work well. They appear to be holding zero but I have not used them extensively as of yet. The auto off and shake awake features are working well. The dot turns off after two minutes and turns on with just a touch of the weapon. Only time will tell if they will hold up.

It's fine but not really worth the price

This Micro dot is fine but there are others with similar features at a lower cost.
Full disclosure, I'm a newbie when it comes to red dots of any type. This red dot is mounted on a Ruger 57 and it fits fine. Once it was zeroed in, it works fine. The dot brightness and size is a bit more than just adequate (in other words, it is fine). The site picture is fine but I wish it was a bit larger (but then again is this a ultra compact micro dot).
One thing I really don't like are the elevation and windage adjustment screws. They are very small and have a single slot (not phillips). Finding the slot with the supplied tool is a real bugger. They really should be a phillps or torx type screw. I will heading to the hardware store to purchase a slotted screw driver that fits these tiny screws and with a much larger handle so that adjusting the elevation and windage is an easier proposition.
Over all it is an OK red dot, I just believe it is a bit high priced for what you receive.
