I might never know. This was clearly my first choice after reviewing quite literally, hundreds of bolt carrier groups. Unfortunately, it'll be months before I ever lay hands on one of these. I'm not sure if its the manufacturer not being able to keep up with supply and demand or if it's the fact that you can get one of these F-1's for less than $150 and EVERYONE is out of stock! It's happening with all manufacturers. Finding a bcg today is a next to impossible task. Still, my next build will have to wait for this one. It's truly that good of a bcg.
Fortunately, with the staff at Optics Planet, I was able to find a nickel boron bcg which also is extremely highly rated. They only had a few in stock so I ordered it instead for this build. I won't disclose the manufacturer since it is in competition with F-1 Firearms. But if you ever get the chance at one of these, I would take it in a heart beat.

If you're willing to wait for a long time to get one, then go for it. I didn't want to wait so went with a competitor. But that doesn't take away what I know about these bipods. If you can't afford an Atlas, which arguably is the best available anywhere, then this is the obvious next choice. With Atlas compatible feet, an extremely small footprint on your hand guard, the Magpul is a great choice which is why I gave it 5 stars. A friend of mine has one which he tested thoroughly. He's a US Marine and really knows how to put his gear through its paces. His go to AR has this bipod. I'm the lucky guy who got to mess with it! Anyway, again if your willing to wait, since nobody else has these right now, its a great choice. Maybe on my next build!

If you've ever experienced trigger failure because of a retainer pin walking out on you, then you know this is a must have item. I had it happen only once and spent a lot with my local gunsmith to repair the damage which ultimately ended in selling the rifle. Since then I've used KNS non-rotate pins on every build. Is it really necessary? Maybe, maybe not. But I, for one, am not willing to sacrifice any AR build to anything less. These kits just work...oh, and they look cool too!

At first I was apprehensive about spending so little on these tools. Still, they are necessary if you're ever going to get serious about building your AR platform rifle or pistol. That said, I was surprised at how snug the fit was for both the upper and lower receiver blocks on my Aero Precision upper and lower.
Could I have spent more? Sure, but I'm glad I didn't. These work great, better than expected.

If you're on the fence about spending less on a gun mat out of fear it may be too cheap, don't worry. This is a great gun mat. It's non-slip backing doesn't move unless you make it move. It's design accurately reflects the 100% breakdown of the AR-15 rifle. It's easy to clean. It has padding for soft surface to work on. Oils and solvents don't destroy the printed surface. All in all, this is a great gun pad at any price. The gun cleaning cloth included was also a nice surprise.

Living in the same town as this manufacturer doesn't always have its perks. Still, the quality of Burris products cannot be overlooked. I wanted one of their scopes but the price put me out of contention for PRS. Still, I wanted a product that I know is tough and will keep me in the running with my competitors.
That product is a bubble level. It keeps my scope exactly aligned with the crosshairs of my scope and Burris is up to the task. It's simple to mount and looks great on my 30mm scope. The fit and finish are first rate and I'm pleased to see this kind of quality in any product. Burris, keep up the great work.

Oh my goodness! How many of you (me included) have used your regular household or mechanics tools to build your AR rifle or pistol. You know you have, don't lie.
It's okay though. The folks at Real Avid have again come to the rescue with their Armorers hammer and punch set. This kit has everything you need to prevent the un-needed frustration of a detent and/or spring launching into oblivion. Not only do you get the correct size hammer with 4 different replaceable heads, you get a set of tweezers that will hold that roll-pin while driving it with the diameter specific roll-pin punch! And if that's not enough, you also get more punches to help you with your build including a polymer punch that eliminates the scratches you normally get with mechanics tools. I'm not bashing my mechanics tools or yours. I like my Snap-On and MAC tools. It's just that they aren't meant for building an AR platform rifle or pistol or any firearm for that matter.
Anyway, just buy this tool set. You'll be happy you did.

Who would have thought that Magpul and Lancer would have any competition at all? Certainly not me, but the price point made this the obvious choice for my PRS rifle. Competition rules state that 10 round magazines are required and Hera clearly fits the bill.
But will they hold up to this kind of abuse? YOU BET! They're tough and withstand all kinds of abuse in the field and getting thrown around in storage. At 100 grams, they're light but still very tough. They have thicker feed lips than Magpul so they don't flex at all! This is a great option plus they're California compliant especially when the competitors are out of stock.
