Solid Mount

Written on Dec 29, 2014

I prefer this style mount to just mounting rings to the firearm. The wider base more easily accommodates a single piece mount, which is my preferred option, and provides a more secure mounting point. This product works as well as any I have. It mounted on the rifle just as expected, and functions perfectly. My only criticism relates to the length of the rail at the front. I mounted it on my Howa Axiom 1500, and it extends out over the floating barrel by about an inch. This has not caused me any issues yet, but it could easily become entangled on branches or clothing.

Quality Scope Mount

Written on Dec 24, 2014

While I have yet to subject it to much abuse, and hope I never do, it appears to be a high quality mount. The scope attaches with only 2 screws, versus 4 for other mounts, so it attaches to the scope more easily. The 1 piece design allows for greater ease in removing and adjusting scope position on the rifle. I mounted a 50 mm objective scope on a Remington Model 597, and it provided ample clearance.

Outstanding Scope

Written on Nov 27, 2014

I own a Leupold scope, and honestly cannot tell a difference between it's performance and the Millet, and the Millet is less than half the price of a comparable Leupold. This is one of three Millet scopes that I now own, and don't think I'll purchase another brand. The LRS is a monster in terms of size, which takes a little getting accustomed to, even if just in terms of appearance. It does make it more challenging to case a rifle with the scope attached (you need a big case), so I've had to remove the scope from the rifle for transportation and storage in my safe. It provides plenty of eye relief for shooting larger rifles, and has as clear a view as possible. The mil-dot reticle is larger than I have seen on any other brand, and the illumination lights up the entire marked section of the reticle extremely well. The magnification adjustment ring is clearly marked to identify the point at which the mil-dot ranging is at its baseline, i.e. 1mil = 3.6" @ 100 yards, and given the high range for magnification, it offers the ability to halve the baseline to 1 mil = 1.8" @ 100 yards. For a variable power scope like this, I think that is an awesome feature. I have not fired the rifle upon which I mounted this scope, but the others I own, including another LRS, we're easy to sight. After bore sighting, about five to eight shots has put me right on the mark. I have never had an easier time sighting a scope. The only thing I cannot comment on is their durability. I treat th
