Mounting screws dont fit through holes

Written on Mar 12, 2024

Can’t mount = can’t operate it. The unit delivered also had dings on the hot button edges - could have been a return that missed QC and shipped to me. Returning.

Get some repititions with it

Written on Feb 29, 2024

It’s a different feeling for sure. Get 100+ repetitions with it; if you try it just a few times you’ll probably not like it. It makes the standard selector feel like mush. It’s more than just a sound effect - it forces a deliberate movement/pressure to safe/fire, and you can rest your thumb on it without it moving modes.

Review of Full Mass and Low Mass

Written on Feb 21, 2024

Both are outstanding and butter smooth. Match yours to your use case - it’s very important.

I have a full mass BCG’s in all “must be reliable” rifles. Love them. No complaints and I highly recommend.

I had low mass BCG’s in two rifles, removed them, and swapped them for the JP full mass BCG’s. When sending the bolt forward from the bolt locked to the rear (empty mag / new mag scenario), I was getting a failure to feed or jam 100% of the time with a low mass BCG. The low mass didn’t have enough mass to push the 77gr bullets into the chamber properly is my guess. I also didn’t notice a different in recoil between the low mass and full mass. Regardless I’ll take reliability over possibly improved recoil, so the low masses are getting sold.

Avoid. Mountain screw thin as a needle

Written on Jan 15, 2024

Avoid this light. I purchased two for two sub guns and the screw has little broke in half on one, obviously causing the light to fall off the gun. Pick something more substantial.

A lot of light pollution around the dot

Written on Aug 31, 2023

Even on the lower settings there is still a lot of visual “noise” surrounding the dot. I would not recommend for precision use. Mine sits on top of an LPVO.

Other than that, it seems to be well built and quality.

Outstanding

Written on Mar 21, 2022

This barrel is deceptively light. I appreciate the dimple to properly align the gas block - don’t overlook this - It makes it very simple. I have these proof barrels on a 16” 308 AR10, 18” 556, and have a 14.5” on back order. These are also the most beautiful barrels I’ve seen to date. Rule #1: Always look cool. Check that box.

Valuable upgrade

Written on Mar 05, 2022

TL;DR: this is now my standard in all my glocks. I’ve tried stock, “polished”, and aftermarket vendors. The challenge is consistency with uniform finish, and a hard exterior to prevent burrs, scratches, etc that can be the cause of a rough or catchy trigger. This module has the most uniform surface I’ve seen and so far, and the trigger action is smoother (using with Timney Glock Trigger). The price is reasonable and they are available, so this is now a standard for my Glocks.

Another work of art

Written on Feb 21, 2022

My first JP Large frame BCG, and Im happy with its quality and function. I’m guessing because the contact surface is even wider than the already wide AR15 BCG’s, the action is extremely smooth. I’m running this on a 16” 308 AR10 with JP captured spring system.

Good option for Kriss Vector

Written on Feb 13, 2022

The tube is well made and fits great on my vector. I purchased this for a Tailhook brace that I’m still waiting on, but I’m happy with my choice vs a round tube. Only thing to note - there isn’t a drainage hole at the end of the tube, if that matters to your application.

Great stock for adjustability

Written on Feb 13, 2022

I enjoy this stock’s adjustability for cheek weld, length of pull and the adjustable cant; I haven’t “run out of” adjustability. The weight also balances out the guns nicely. The only thing I changed was adding a piece of 1/8” foam pad to the cheek riser for comfort. I run this stock on two of my distance rifles. Just note - if you run a QD receiver end plate, there may be a small gap between the stock and the end plate where the QD surface sticks out. I use non-QD end plates to avoid this.
