Be Aware of your Takedown Pin Clearance
Written on Feb 24, 2018
This is an extremely robust and well built piece of equipment. The only caveat I would offer for purchase is a compatibility issue: When designing your build, or considering this as an addition be aware that the clearance between the right-side sliding rail and the Takedown pin is minimal.
My original thought was to make life easy on myself by using an extended takedown pin with a textured head. In examining the interface it was clear this wouldn’t work. I settled on a pin with a minimally enlarged head and in the middle of installation found even that was too tall. Utilizing a standard takedown pin solved the issue, allowing the rail to slide freely for extension and retraction.
This is a minor issue, but something you should be aware of for installation.
