Super performance in cold weather; excellent value

Written on Feb 07, 2021

I have been using this mat for a few weeks for shooting prone off of cement slab here in New Jersey. The temperature has been in the 20s during the early morning shoots. The insulation of this mat is just fabulous. The cement is also very rough. The mat provides excellent protection for the elbows.

It is in the higher price range, but definitely well worth the price since it is of excellent value.

Good product, though needs some improvements

Written on Feb 07, 2021

I have this bipod mounted on my Ruger Precision Rimfire. I like the functionality and the price though it needed a little improvement.

I found a review in a few other places on the web (the same one). It is accurate. After some (little) use, it becomes difficult to tighten it with the tension lever. These are the steps that I took:

1. I heated the lever cap with a hairdryer for a bit (a long bit) and unscrewed it with a pair of pliers.
2. I tried taking out the alan screw that holds the lever in place, but it stripped my Allen wrench.
3. I decided to drill out the screw and that worked fine. With the cap, I don't think it is necessary
4. Moved the lever over one place (to leave room for future adjustments)
5. Put back the cap and tightened it.

Now it works as it is supposed to.
