Lightweight but more importantly it gives a bit more space on the rail for a magnifier. The cantilever design lets you get a few more slots on the AR rail.

Helps lower weight but more importantly it places the red dot sight a bit further forward. Just the little bit extra helps get the magnifier on the AR with eye relief and a shorter stock.

The dot looks more precise under larger power magnification and for those that have the VLTOR CASV it allows for a co-witness with the front sight post without the spacer.
